My name is Joseph Thomas, But moat know me as Philly Joe.

 

I'm from Philadelphia. Born and raised in a city that doesn't forgive weakness. Growing up, I made choices I'm not proud of. I got in trouble. I went down paths that could have destroyed me. But somewhere in that chaos, I found something that gave me purpose: art.

 

Before tattoos, there was graffiti. Late nights on city walls, teaching myself to turn blank concrete into something that mattered. That's where I learned discipline. That's where I learned that talent without work means nothing. And that's where I discovered I could create something out of nothing.

 

Twelve years ago, I picked up a tattoo machine. What started as a way out became a calling. Every hour I spent perfecting line work, studying shading, understanding skin - that was me building a foundation. Not just for a career, but for a life I could be proud of.

 

This studio represents more than business. It's proof that your beginning doesn't dictate your ending. It's proof that the same hands that made mistakes can create beauty. It's proof that Philadelphia grit, when channeled correctly, builds something lasting.

 

Newtown trusted me to be their first. That's not something I take lightly. When this community looked at my work, my journey, and my vision - they said yes. That responsibility drives me every single day.

 

 

I'm grateful for the second chance art gave me. I'm humbled by the trust this community has shown. And I'm committed to proving that both were worth it.
